POPULOUS IS AIA KANSAS CITY'S FIRM OF THE YEAR

Date: December 15, 2009

The American Institute of Architects' (AIA) Kansas City chapter recognized Populous as its 2009 Firm of the Year at an awards ceremony last week.

"It's been a big year for us, no doubt, from the name change, to major project openings like a renovated Kauffman Stadium, Yankee Stadium, the Phoenix Convention Center and even the new roof over Wimbledon," said Jim Walters, Populous senior principal. "All these projects – these global icons that are seen on millions of television sets around the world – have roots on the Kansas City drawing table and we're proud to represent Kansas City architecture in that way. This is a humbling recognition for us in our first year as Populous."
